     Plano-convex lenses have one convex side and one flat side, a positive focal length, and are coated on both sides with an anti-reflection coating (AR) from 700 nm to 1100 nm. They are primarily used to reduce reflectivity within this wavelength range. They are typically used for applications such as beam reduction, focal length reduction, or image magnification. To reduce spherical aberration, plano-convex lenses are used for collimating a beam so that the beam is incident on the curved surface of the lens; when used for point light source collimation, the beam is incident on a flat surface.
